Far Far West Quad Cylinder Life Pact Experiment — Is Sustain Better Than Glass Cannon?

Testing Life Pact sustain on the Quad Cylinder in Far Far West. Bubble fire tornado combo, Drain spell synergy, and the real-time debate on whether Glass Cannon is still better than healing on kill.
What is up guys, I'm back with another Far Far West run. Today I'm leveling up the Quad Cylinder — a gun I genuinely don't use that much — while testing Life Pact as my main sustain joker. We're going to learn a lot about what works and what doesn't with this weapon, including a real-time meta debate: Glass Cannon vs. Life Pact.

Spoiler: I think I have an answer by the end. And the leverage might still be better.
The Build — Life Pact Experiment
The whole point of this run was to test if Life Pact can replace Glass Cannon for sustained Quad Cylinder play. The premise: heal on every kill, never die.

| Joker | Why |
|---|---|
| Life Pact | Heal on kill — sustain through chaos |
| Extra Jump | Always essential |
| Bubble + Fireball combo | Spawn fire tornadoes |
The problem? Life Pact reduces your max HP by 30%. So you start with around 70 HP, and that's terrifying when you don't have movement speed compensating.
Early Game — Bubble Tornado Combo Saves the Day

Fun fact: you can use Bubble to instantly blow up fire puddles. There's a fire puddle there? Blow it up — that's actually kind of huge.
The Bubble + Fire Beam combo creates fire tornadoes, and it's one of the best AoE clears in the game. With Life Pact, you can dive into the tornado, kill everything, and heal back to full mid-fight. The cooldown isn't even that long, so you can cycle it constantly.
"That combo is so good because it doesn't take that long to get the fire tornado back."
Glass Cannon vs. Life Pact — The Real Debate

About 9 minutes into the run, I started having second thoughts:
"Maybe Glass Cannon's better than probably Life Pact. I don't know. I like Life Pact, but..."
| Build | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Life Pact | Constant healing on kill, strong vs. swarms | -30% max HP, weaker burst damage, loses to dead eyes |
| Glass Cannon | Massive damage boost, kills everything faster | No sustain, must dodge perfectly |
By minute 11, I was definitely feeling the lack of Glass Cannon damage:
"Yeah, I can definitely feel the effects of not having Glass Cannon, man."
My takeaway: Life Pact is decent against hordes, but the damage trade-off makes Glass Cannon better for boss fights and elite enemies. It's not bad, just not optimal for solo high-difficulty runs.
Prowlers Are Insane Now

The new Prowler teleport mechanic is brutal:
"Dude, prowlers are insane. Holy [__]"
"Prowlers now are kind of nutty."
They teleport on hit, which means high-fire-rate weapons like the Quad Cylinder constantly need to re-aim. You'll fire a burst, they teleport behind you, and now you're scrambling to flip the camera while they shred your already-low HP from Life Pact.
The new enemy buffs are genuinely difficult to deal with on this build.
Anti-Gravity Bug Update

I noticed the anti-gravity zones got changed:
"Wait, I thought if you just go in it, it would work. No, I have to jump?"
"I've never seen it do that before."
You now have to jump or dash in the anti-gravity zone to activate it. Just walking in does nothing. This is from the patch — Anti-Gravity Falls now activates only on dash/jump within the zone, which prevents the "accidentally launched into the stratosphere when picking up loot" problem.
It's a solid change, but it took me by surprise mid-run.
Mid-Run Reality Check

By minute 25, I was wishing I had picked different upgrades:
"Really bad choice for the Quad Cylinder. The things I picked I feel like for it."
"I feel like this gun's really good, but Lever Edge just feels better."
The honest verdict from the run: the Quad Cylinder is good, but the Lever Edge feels better in hand. The Lever Edge has more punch per shot, and the Quad's ammo economy is rough without the right Joker stack.
The Spell MVP — Drain

"Drain is so good. Got to be one of my favorite spells."
"Like, it's so good. It's crazy."
Drain ended up being the unsung hero of this run. With Life Pact already healing on kills, adding Drain stacks even more sustain on top. The voodoo synergy is real.
The Boss — Vulture Tries (and Fails)

The boss fight was rough. Without Glass Cannon damage, the Vulture took way longer than it should have:
"Yeah, it's not really doing as much damage as I really want it to."
"I'm out of ammo, unfortunately. It is what it is."
Eventually got the kill but only after burning through every spell, every storm, and most of my reserves.
Lessons Learned

After 46 minutes of play, here's what I'd recommend:
| Lesson | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Life Pact alone isn't enough | You still need damage — pair with Glass Cannon or skip it |
| Quad Cylinder needs accuracy upgrades | The new accuracy upgrade slot is mandatory |
| Prowlers are now scary | Teleport mechanic punishes high-fire-rate builds |
| Bubble + Fire = still meta | Fire tornado combo is incredible AoE clear |
| Drain is goated | Especially with Life Pact stacking |
| Anti-gravity needs a jump | Don't just walk in, you need to dash/jump |
| Lever Edge > Quad in feel | Quad is good, Lever is just more satisfying |
Quick Reference
| Component | Used | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Quad Cylinder | Good but not great — accuracy upgrades needed |
| Sustain Joker | Life Pact | Decent but Glass Cannon may be better |
| Spells | Bubble, Fireball, Drain | Drain MVP, tornado combo strong |
| Survival | Extra Jump always | Mandatory in any build |
| Best target | Hordes via tornadoes | Bosses are rough without Glass Cannon |
