Optimized Far Far West loadouts for solo, co-op, boss hunting, spell combos, and speed runs. Primary + sidearm + element + Joker recommendations for each build.

Far Far West loadouts combine a primary weapon, a sidearm, an elemental assignment, utility throwables, spells, and Joker Cards. The strongest builds align all these pieces toward a single goal rather than spreading across multiple roles. For weapon stats and rankings, see our best primary weapons guide.

Best loadouts

Solo All-Purpose Build

The safest setup for solo Nightmare runs. Both weapons work at every range without forcing positional commitments.

Primary: Quad Cylinder Sidearm: Revolver (Electric) Utility: Dynamite Spells: Rain + Thunderstrike + Firebeam Key Jokers: Second Wind, Hit Me, Run & Gun, Headbang

How it plays: Use the Quad Cylinder for sustained damage, swap to Revolver to proc Electric on groups, then detonate with Thunderstrike. Rain provides passive attrition. Dynamite saves you when the horde collapses.

Aggressive Close Range Build

For players who want to be in the thick of the fight. High risk, high reward.

Primary: Shotgun Sidearm: Boomerang (Pyro) Utility: Dynamite Spells: Surcharge + Fireball + Bandito Key Jokers: Overblast, Glass Cannon, Run & Gun, Rampage

How it plays: Push into point-blank range and one-shot everything with the Shotgun. Boomerang covers ammo gaps with infinite returns. Bandito holds the frontline while you reload. Surcharge detonates burning targets.

Boss Hunter Build

Maximizes single-target damage for contract bosses and elite enemies.

Primary: Leveredge (or Long Ranger) Sidearm: Revolver (Acid) Utility: Tomahawk Spells: Contagion + Firebeam + Portal Key Jokers: Eagle Lever, Weak Link, Headbang, Lucky Strike

How it plays: Apply Acid with the Revolver to amplify damage, then unload Leveredge headshots for massive crits. Portal duplicates Firebeam hits for a damage loop. Tomahawk adds burst on cooldown windows.

Sustained DPS Build

Lock down a position and melt everything that approaches.

Primary: Minigun Sidearm: Sheriff Stars (Electric) Utility: Energite Bottle Spells: Thunderstrike + Strikes + Doll Key Jokers: Frenzy Spin, Elemental Spin, Headbang, Glass Cannon

How it plays: Position your back against terrain, spin up the Minigun, and hold. Frenzy Spin ramps fire rate as your kill streak climbs, while Elemental Spin layers your assigned element onto the stream. Headbang and Glass Cannon push raw damage for melting elites that wander into the spray.

Spell Combo Build

Maximize elemental reactions and spell uptime.

Primary: Leveredge Sidearm: Dual Revolvers (Acid) Utility: Energite Bottle Spells: Rain + Thunderstrike + Portal Key Jokers: West Wizard, Battlemage, Acid Mastery, Headbang

How it plays: Drop Rain for acid puddles, trigger Thunderstrike for storm chains, and use Portal to duplicate spell projectiles. Acid Mastery boosts your acid procs so Dual Revolvers detonations hit harder. West Wizard gives -30% spell cooldown at the cost of -30% HP. For more spell synergies, see our best spell builds guide.

Speed Run Build

For farming lower difficulties quickly.

Primary: Quad Cylinder Sidearm: Revolver (Electric) Utility: Dynamite Spells: Portal + Swap + Thunderstrike Key Jokers: Run & Gun (x3 stacked), Rampage, Speedster, Disgrace

How it plays: Stack movement speed from Run & Gun copies and Rampage kills. Speedster converts that speed into damage and fire rate. Disgrace adds +30% move speed (horse refuses you, but you are faster on foot). Clear rooms while sprinting through.

Joker Budget Tips

  • Each weapon holds around 15 slot points (the exact budget is patch-dependent)
  • Cards cost points by rarity, roughly 1–5 per card, so a Legendary eats far more of your budget than a common
  • Mix one Legendary with several cheaper cards for the best value
  • Prestige raises your weapon budget further, so leveling past the cap keeps paying off
  • New slots unlock as you level, so keep playing to open more room
