Far Far West Dual Pistols Build — Why They're the Best Weapon in the Game (One-Take Nightmare Clear)

The Dual Pistols build for Far Far West. Clutch Shot + acid combo for +25% damage on crits, Ammo Supply compatibility no other weapon has, and enough single-target damage to solo bosses with zero primary use.
Okay, let's go. Using the Dual Pistols — these things are giga busted. Unironically probably the best weapon in the game. I try not to use anything else, and honestly, at this point it's really hard to argue they aren't the best single-use weapon in Far Far West.

You can literally use nothing else but these things across an entire mission and still clear. They require so little investment. And this whole video? Cleared without firing my shotgun once.
Why Dual Pistols Are Broken

The key advantages:
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Damage | Absurdly high per shot |
| Investment | Minimal — you don't need to stack damage |
| Ammo Supply compatible | Very few weapons can run Ammo Supply AND deal giga damage |
| Crit potential | Handles even shield enemies with a well-placed crit |
| Ammo economy | Weak spot — you rely on Ammo Supply procs |
"Very few weapons can run Ammo Supply and still do giga damage like I'm doing right now."
That's the crux. Most weapons that need Ammo Supply have to sacrifice damage. Dual Pistols don't.
The Clutch Shot + Acid Combo

The build's secret sauce: Clutch Shot + acid.
- Clutch Shot adds +15 flat damage per explosion
- Combined with acid procs, this is roughly a 25% increased damage on crits
- Effect scales harder if your base damage is lower
"Look at that. Bye-bye."
Just about every crit becomes a one-shot on standard enemies. Even armored types get chunked in 2 hits max.
The One Weakness — Ad Clear

The build's honest weakness: ad clear. Waves of small enemies eat your ammo fast because Pistols don't AoE. Solutions:
- Utility for AoE — drop turrets or something to shred ads for you
- Kill for ammo — killing anything with Ammo Supply gives ammo back
- Go freaky mode — dodge, weave, pick your shots
The strength is single-target melting. Adapt around the ad clear weakness with your utility choice.
Bow vs. Pistols

"Bow's up there, but Bow isn't really good at dealing with bosses. It has like no boss damage."
Bow is arguably the second best weapon in the game, but has one glaring weakness: poor boss damage. Dual Pistols slot in perfectly here — they're the anti-Bow. Great single-target burst, ok ad clear.
If you were choosing meta between the two:
- Bow = better ad clear, worse bosses
- Dual Pistols = better bosses, worse ad clear
Live Commentary on the Upcoming Ice Spells

Some thoughts on the incoming Ice update:
"Ice spells exist. That's cool. There's going to be like a shield system, so I don't know how much they're going to amp up the difficulty because shields tend to be pretty broken. A lot of overhealth tends to be pretty disgusting always."
The DR Warning
"I hope they don't add DR. DR power creep is one of the worst things that can happen to games. In PvE, it's DR scaling."
Damage Reduction as a scaling tool means all numbers have to go up to compensate. It's a permanent difficulty crutch. The dev team so far has avoided this — hopefully they keep it that way.
Joker System Rework Thoughts
"I saw there are a lot of new Jokers and it looks kind of insane. They're also reworking the Joker system where each Joker is uniquely slotted now. Your unique Jokers aren't all 5 slots — which is really good."
Confirmed positive: the new rarity-based slot cost system means Unique Jokers aren't automatically eating all 5 slots. That opens huge design space for mixed builds.
Boss Fight — Just Circle Strafe

Boss strategy:
"I don't really got much else to talk about. You just circle the boss and shoot him with the gun."
That's it. That's the strategy. Dual Pistols delete boss HP so fast the fight becomes a walking sim with mouse buttons.
The Best Part — One-Take Video
"I can't believe the minigun video took me four takes to do. This took me one single singular. Insane. It's so broken."
Zero shotgun uses across the entire nightmare run. The secondary literally never came out.

"I didn't even have to use my primary once. That's how broken this gun is. Oh my. Dude, this should not be outdamaging some primaries. It's actually insane."
Quick Reference
| Component | Pick |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Dual Pistols |
| Key Jokers | Ammo Supply, Clutch Shot |
| Element | Acid (for Clutch Shot combo) |
| Playstyle | Crit into everything, circle-strafe bosses |
| Utility | Pick AoE (Pistolero or similar) for ad clear |
| Weakness | Waves of small enemies |
| Strength | Boss deletion, single-target crit chains |
Verdict
Dual Pistols outdamage a lot of primaries. They shouldn't, but they do. Whether that gets patched or not, right now they're one of the most efficient weapons in the game with the lowest investment cost.
Try the Clutch Shot + Acid combo. You won't need your primary.
It's too good, man. For the full one-take nightmare run, watch the original video.
