Far Far West Roadmap Prediction — What Will Be the Next Major Update?

Analysis of the Far Far West roadmap: why Hellfire Map is likely the next major update, plus predictions on Zerker Army, melee weapons, new spells, community goals, and the Companies feature.
Howdy, collaborator. Let's talk roadmap — specifically, what I think will be the next major update for Far Far West. This is full speculation based on the information we have, but with some educated guessing, we can make a pretty good prediction.

The Roadmap
When you start the game, you get the roadmap screen showing almost everything planned for early access. I say almost because the Hellfire map isn't on there — which could mean:
- They forgot it
- It's part of exploration events and gameplay
- They're saving it for the 1.0 release (technically not early access)
I think they just forgot to add it. Here's why.
What Counts as a "Major Update"?
Evil Raptor is a small studio. What sounds big to some people isn't big to others, so let me set a baseline. I think these are the roadmap items that qualify as major updates:
| Feature | Status |
|---|---|
| New Zerker Army (with melee weapons) | Unlikely to be next |
| New Spells | Unlikely to be next |
| Hellfire Map | Most likely next |
| Community goals + Companies + Mission modifiers + Weekly challenges | Grouped together |
Zerker Army — Not Next

The Zerkers will be a fully new enemy type separate from the current Cryptics. If you go to the BC area, you can see the Zerkers have their own tab with "coming soon" labels. Way back a couple months ago the devs revealed a bunch of different Zerker types.
Why I don't think this is next:
- No new information about them in a long time
- Would need their own bosses — which the devs said in a recent devlog is "very difficult"
- Can't release an army with just one boss — need at least 3
- Massive workload for a small studio
The recent devlog mentioning boss difficulty basically confirms Zerkers are further out than they might seem.
Melee Weapons Overhaul

People have been asking for melee weapons forever. There's already a melee build in the game, but in its current state, getting close to enemies is a death sentence. The melee system needs an overhaul.
What Melee Weapons Might Look Like
| Prediction | Details |
|---|---|
| Pickaxe | Most logical — could do pickaxe activities with the weapon too |
| Machete / hunting knife | Western style, blade-based option |
| New Jokers | Corresponding with melee attacks (like the existing 500-punch-kill Joker) |
| At least 2 weapons | Probably launching together |
But we haven't gotten confirmation about any of this. Not in official devlogs, anyway. Maybe a Discord mention here and there, but nothing concrete. Also not next.
New Spells

Currently at level 35 you unlock every spell in a spell line. The roadmap says "spells" — it doesn't say "spell line" or "spell type."
My Prediction
Not new spell lines. Instead: more spells added to the existing lines.
| Level | Unlock |
|---|---|
| Current cap | Level 35 last spell |
| Level 50 | New mid-tier spell |
| Level 75 | Another spell |
| Level 100 | Powerful capstone spell |
This would open up:
- Massive new spell combos
- Higher difficulty scaling (spells could be way more powerful)
- Character customization at max level
But again — devs haven't talked about this recently. Not next.
Hellfire Map — The Most Likely Next Major Update

This is my prediction for the next major update.
Evidence for Hellfire being next:
| Signal | Explanation |
|---|---|
| May devlog mentions | Devs explicitly said they're "working hard" on it |
| Recent progress updates | Multiple visual reveals over the past months |
| Boarded music plaque | Already exists in the music room, ready for the new disc |
| Location on map | Already exists geographically, just needs unlocking |
| Absence from roadmap | Might mean it's imminent enough they moved it off |
What Hellfire Will Include
- Jungle biome quest line — dungeons unlocked via scrolls (shown in dev videos)
- New graves to find
- New music disc for the boarded music room slot
- Volcano vibes — reminds me of Sea of Thieves' Devil's Roar
Will Hellfire Have an Exclusive Modifier?
There's already a modifier called Hellfire where the volcano explodes periodically. My guess: this modifier becomes a regional mechanic exclusive to the Hellfire map. Perfect thematic fit.
Community Goals + Companies + Modifiers + Weekly Challenges

I think these four features go hand-in-hand and will drop together.
Community Goals + Weekly Challenges
Basically the same thing at different scales:
| Feature | Scale | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Community Goal | Server-wide, month-long | Kill 1 million Cryptics |
| Weekly Challenge | Player, weekly | Kill 500 Cryptics on Very Hard with X modifier |
New Mission Modifiers

Predictions for new modifiers:
- Elite enemies on lower difficulties — extra challenge for Very Hard players
- Special attack buffs — similar to Nightmare enemy variants
- Completely new enemies — like the Halloween modifier's triple-stacked pumpkins
- Environmental effects — like the existing Hellfire volcano modifier
Companies (The Interesting One)

This is the mysterious one. Looking at the lore:
Bull calls you "collaborator" and says you're there to "make the big stongs" — heavily implying you work for his company.
So Companies should relate to the existing NPC characters in the game. My prediction:
- Select amount of companies run by different NPCs (like Bull's company)
- Apply to work with them
- Level up within a company
- Unlock unique rewards — different skins, Jokers, cosmetics
This would be better than a generic guild system. Instead of players creating their own random companies, you're actively joining the existing lore-based factions.
My Verdict

Ranked by likelihood of being next:
| Rank | Feature | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hellfire Map | High — May devlog + visible progress |
| 2 | Community/Company/Modifiers bundle | Medium — no specific timeline |
| 3 | New Spells | Low — silence from devs |
| 4 | Melee weapons | Low — needs system overhaul |
| 5 | Zerker Army + bosses | Low — bosses hard, no recent news |
The next major update is almost certainly Hellfire. The dev focus, the boarded music slot, the working progress — everything points here.
Community Poll

I'm reopening the community favorite loadout polls on the YouTube community tab, similar to what I did during the Steam Next Fest demo back in February. 96% of you voted yes to bringing them back.
Vote for your favorite weapons, spells, and utilities across the weekend, and we'll look at the final winners next week.
What do you think will be the next major update? Any ideas I missed? Leave them in the comments. For the full breakdown with all the roadmap analysis, watch the original video.
